The e-mail account that is most suitable for you as a company, or individual will depend on your particular needs. For example, if, as part of your business, you travel a great deal, but do not carry a lap top computer then a web-based e-mail account will allow you to easily and securely access your e-mail.

By contrast, if you are a company that needs a large number of e-mail addresses and has its own on-site technical staff, you may feel that you have the capability to manage your own e-mail server. In which case SMTP may be a good route.
